Summerfield’s student Green Team invites you to help us stay green!
Summerfield has been approved for a $348,000 solar grant from the California Energy Commission, which will allow us to install 308 photovoltaic solar panels producing roughly 112 Kilowatts. This will completely cover the school’s energy usage, saving the school roughly $30,000 a year in energy expense, and lowering our carbon footprint even further.
This grant is specifically for solar panel installation, so we need to raise the funds to cover the cost of permits, structural engineering, and roof repairs. We will need to raise roughly $150,000 to cover the infrastructure costs. Please help us make it happen!
